The initiative was founded by Webb Dalton, a beloved figure on the Gulf Coast, who has spent decades performing and documenting the area's rich musical landscape. After facing personal losses and witnessing friends struggle with medical issues, Dalton established the nonprofit in 2018 to create a safety net for musicians who often live paycheck to paycheck. He recounts, "I’ve seen firsthand how hard it is for performers to prioritize health over an unpredictable income. This fund helps remove those barriers," he stated.
